Free to Good home
« on: April 18, 2013, 10:58:43 PM »
Due to work and family commitments  :-[ I have not got the time to start the renovation on Hippo so I would like it to go to some one who can complete the renovation.
It still has no wheels and will need a trailer to take it away. I have the towing hitch and this is included.

Hi Macker,
Sorry to hear you are unable to do "Hippo", looking at the pictures it is a big project, Can you try and pass it on to an engineer or tradesman who would have the skills to do the job and ask them to keep in touch with the forum as t would be a shame for another boat to be lost,
bye for now,
neil m

I see that Hippo is for sale on Ebay.I would have loved to take it on,but I have nowhere to store her during restoration.I do hope that she goes to a good home, and that we see her back on the water some day.

Hello everyone again!
After trying to find storage and a way of transporting hippo back to Rotherham I'm really struggling!
I would love to restore it back to its former glory and enjoy the childhood memories that me and my family had with hippo years ago.

All I can hope is that it goes to a good home!

Sadly i join the list of 'I'm out'. this is a great opportunity, but the cost of getting to and from and hiring the correct type of vehicle makes it unfeasable to most once they look into it.
Sorry , I wish you well with it and I hope it goes to a good home.

Looks like "Hippo" has a new owner in Leyland which is pretty close to me, If the new owner reads this and wants to have a look at Helterskelter, send me a pm or e mail it would be great to hear from them.

Hey Macker1, I was wondering if you might be able to put me in touch with whoever bought the boat, it would be fantastic to film the restoration process if they are interested. I work on the design and Architecture show George Clarke's Amazing Spaces. my e-mail is peter@plumpictures.co.uk and my number is 02071845782.
