The colour of caraboats!
« on: July 08, 2015, 04:22:39 PM »
Hi All,

I'd like to re-paint the yellow stripe on my Caraboat but just can't find a yellow that anywhere near matches it.
Obviously, it's very distinctive and I'd like to keep it original looking.
Has anyone ever found the colour?
Kind regards

Hi Stuart,
You may have to go to an Automotive paint factors and get them to match it and mix some for you, having said that have you tried polishing the gel coat with a rubbing compound like Farcle to restore the colour. this would be much better than painting.
all the best,
Neil..

Thanks Neil,

I've polished it with various things in the past, but the gel coat seems to be getting very thin (if that's possible) and it becomes very dull again very quickly.
I'll probably try again, because I'd rather not paint. But if I have to I may well need to have it specially matched.
I also had a slight accident a year or so ago, leaving a blemish on the front......

Regards
