SLIPWAY ON THE ASHBY
« on: October 12, 2015, 09:47:13 PM »
Iíve just returned from Snarestone at the top end on the Ashby Canal where I watched Phil and Dawn launch Mr Towed on the relatively new slip way belonging to the Ashby Canal Association.
Phil and Dawn made the launch look very simple with their well organised, professional approach, each of them performing their allotted tasks, clearing the car and loading the Caraboat before launching and cruising away in about 10 minutes.
The slipway is far better than the old steel slip that was far too steep, the new one is well positioned and there is room to park  cars  (and a trailers for our Caracruiser friends) and a very helpful couple live on site to use it contact the ACA in advance.

Hi Mick,
Yes we launched there a couple of years ago and it was great, the ACA are doing a great job as Slipways seem to be getting harder to find..
