My Caraboat reluctantly For Sale!
« on: October 27, 2016, 08:43:30 PM »
Hi All.

I've been the proud owner of John Nelson's old boat for a number of years now but due to ill health and a change of retirement plans I'm about to put it up for sale. It'll go on e-bay in due course but I thought I'd mention it on the Caraboat Forum first in case anyone's actively looking to buy one and would like first go..

I retired to Birmingham in Summer 2015 and had a heart attack the day after we moved house! Then a back injury in May 2016 so it's not been on the water since 2014. Here's my photo bucket with some shots from the not too distant past :

I'm preparing some current photos after I've given the outside a clean. It's in good working order and you could put it straight on the water. Honda 100 outboard included. 3 birth layout. Single birth at rear opposite the toilet and kitchen. Double birth at the front in a dinette arrangement of my own design which allows for a variety of 'L' shaped and 'U' shaped seating layouts. All fitted out with narrow slat wooden venetian blinds and yellow roller blinds.

You get a good idea from the photo bucket pictures just how much fun it is.

Because it's in good general condition - and 'sea'worthy - I'd like a decent price. It's got a new main chassis member that John Nelson fitted and that I 'glassed in.'

If anyone out there's interested, let me know on the Forum. I live at Birmingham B32 3DL within a mile of the wonderful Birmingham canal network.

Regards.
STUART

Thanks Neil.

I'm actually quite well now, but its been an interesting 15 months!
I just think I'm not going to make use of the Caraboat - so there we are.
We've had wonderful times in her so we've had our money's worth.

Kind regards

STUART

Hi Stuart, sorry to hear about you heath, I know how a heart problem can be unsettling, I had a stent 10 days ago, which makes me all the sadder to hear that you are selling your Caraboat, I have taken the other view and intend to do more boating in 2017.
I’m hoping to be in Stourbridge tomorrow any chance I could pop round and have a look at your Caraboat before you sell it ? if thats possible PM me your phone number.
Best wishes

Hi Stuart, already on way  back by 1.00 but thanks anyway, can I suggest you “edit” your post and remove your name, address and phone number unless you want a 10,000  unwanted emails or calls.

Hi Mike and All.
I've sold my Caraboat to Peter Lewis who already has one but hasn't got very far with his intended major renovation.
So I'm assuming his will be on sale soon.
My goodness, I was sorry to see it go.....

But I think Peter and his wife are really going to enjoy it.
We may hear more of their exploits!!
